Hello!~

All of you might have been wondering what has happened here and why there were no activities for a veeeery long time. I mentioned before that I have transferred to my new blog. I invited everyone over and I was sad, really sad, because a little of my followers have responded. But then again, I can't blame you guys... It was boring back then. So I decided to gradually change it. It also has a domain and it's been like that since. :)

Guess, I have to share to you all a little something about what I do in my new blog. It is, by the way, almost the same as this one but only better. You know how people progress through time, right? Thank you very much!~ xD
DIY projects ^_^

Planner revamp. CLICK THE PIC, PLEASE!~

Recycling paper bags!~ CLICK THE PIC!~

So, yeah.. Those were just some of the small things that I do back there. I have a tab that says DIY where you can find my tutorial stuffs. Please do swing by some time! :)

Thanks a lot!~

P.S. I missed all of you!!! ♥

just like me

i'm currently enjoying my week long vacay from the noise and from my day job. ooh-lala! i finally started knitting and loom-ing... well, i have used the loom and started casting some yarns on its pegs. but due to the so many things-to-do, i wasn't able to finish it. and because i am so excited with the needles, i decided to start learning how to knit... thanks to so many videos or how to's guide to knitting and such, i am now working on my first swatch... i am lovin' it! geesh! it's a whole lot different from crochet... the stitches are a lot better. it can be stretched longer than that of the crocheted ones. hmmm... i am looking for an easy pattern at ravelry.com... that site is like heaven! see for yourself why i love that place so much...

(this is my first swatch)

until now, i am in search for good quality yarns that i can use with my looms... the looms that mom got for me requires chunky yarns. unfortunately, the yarns that she bought were eyelash yarns. my mom is always like this... i remember when she asked me some 3 years ago, which do i prefer the most, high heeled shoes or sneakers? i answered, high heeled shoes. then the next thing i know, my shoe rack was filled with dozens of HHS! now, she's buying eyelash yarns like crazy! LOL!

anyway, when i took my daughters to the mall two weeks ago, i saw a store that sells craft materials (mostly cross stitching materials)... OMG! the name of the store is "Heavenly Stitchin' Moment". i was so lucky that day not only because i was able to find a huge roll of yarn (really bigger than the usual that sells here) but i found these on the sale rack:

speaking of yarns, i want to show you the difference of the yarns that i bought from them and from the yarns in my drawer...

see?
even if they're not chunky, i can use them with my looms along with the eyelash yarns and i can make a good shawl or scarf. then, i will give it to mom... eeeeeep! i'm excited!

now, here's the progress of my loom.

the moment my daughter set eyes on this, she asked for it and promised me to finish it. now, we are both sitting quietly and knitting happily!

i'm working with the needles, while she with the loom..

i guess she'll become a great craft lover too... just like me! ^_^

when it rains...

it pours!

yes, the storm has left. and it has left so many devastated homes and hearts of the families who lost everything that they have. i so wanted to post this but you might say that i am being so insensitive. posting the things that you have while so many people are suffering. BUT 2 days before the storm hit PH, mom's second package arrived. it was full of yarns and other nice things for the kids and me and C... wow! again... thank heavens for my oh-so-generous mom!

so... what was inside the box? here... have a look! ^_^

the bamboo knitting needles are  from thinkbamboo.com. the last set of knitting needles are all vintage. ^_^ those eyelash yarns are a great addition to my yarn collection. those can't be found in the stores nearby. i'm not sure though... if they are, well, they cost more than you can imagine! now, can you blame me if i have asked for yarns this time instead of shoes?

btw, the small balls of yarn are from Paraguay. yay to that!!!

sigh... i just wish i can find time to use up all these wonderful yarns for my project. until now, i haven't been able to finish what i have started with my looms. the knitting starter kit is still untouched. aaaaw... it breaks my heart...

yarns and hooks in my jungle

my jungle is my closet. it's my dearest sister who named it "jungle" because whenever she's going to borrow something from me, i would always tell her to look for it in my closet (i'm too lazy to get up, ok?)... and she'd always come back to me and complain about it. all things scattered and disorganized. truly a mess! that's why she called it "jungle".

anyway, i don't want to talk about it yet... there are a lot of posts about "what's in your bag?" or "what's in your closet?" and it kinda wears me out seeing the same topic everyday.

since i'm soo into crocheting, i'm here to talk about my yarns... you can see below that my yarns are the common yarns you see in the store. the same yarn used for sewing the sides of the spiral notebooks of every high school students. yeah! it's common here. my hooks are mostly made of aluminum. sizes range from 1.50mm to 0.95mm and the others are size 3/0 to 6/0...

(i store all of them in my daughter's old pencil case)

(this is my improvised stitch marker. it's annoying whenever i lost count in crocheting but it is more annoying when you can't find stitch markers in stores. i wonder why they don't sell these here... ugh!)

well, my treasures are not much compared to yarns owned by other crocheters. but to me they are my precious! i don't even allow my kids to touch and squeeze them. except when they want to do some finger knitting.
(this is my carry-along case filled with yarns and other essentials. i take this bundle with me whenever and wherever i want to crochet)

(some variegated yarns by Red Heart and white acrylic yarns from Monaco, my pattern keeper, tissue holder used as a yarn holder)

(my pattern keeper. they are just clearbook full of printed copies of patterns that i was able to grab online. thanks to Ravelry!)

i do have a drawer where i keep my extras... so i guess i'm not that disorganized at all... ^___^
(this is where i keep all my sewing notions and all other stuff. that's my Oscar Dela Renta train case on top... i guess you know what's a train case for... XD)

just beneath my underwear box, is my approximately 3 feet tall drawer.

what's inside? take a look!
on the first layer... ta-daah! Yarns and Crochet Cotton yarns!

on the second... more yarns and some unfinished projects.

on the third... laces and ribbons and tulle, all in black! i love Gothic themed accessories! i also love making beaded jewelries. see? i really love crafts!

and lastly... somewhat free space for more ribbons, laces yarns or any other stuff. but for the meantime, i let my mold and deckle rest here. they are my Handmade Paper Making Kit that i've been keeping for so long. i bought them years ago in Papemelroti Store in SM Southmall. i was able to use them once. after that, i was so engaged with jewelry designing and forgot about the whole thing. to know more about paper making, visit their page right here: Handmade Paper Making

i know you would ask about that little box in the photo. it is a mini handheld sewing machine. it looks like a stapler.. haha... **wink** but it works especially on hemlines. really cool!

confession: i never splurged in bags, shoes and clothes, the way i splurged in to these yarns and other craft materials! ^_^

the box of my new love

the end result... ta-dah!

finger knitted shawl for my niece...

i am up to something...

oh my... i wasn't able to write lately. i've been working hard late at night on my new found love. yarns, needles, weaving and knitting... i'm a beginner. and i need improvement, i know.
i tried crochet projects but none of them seems to work. it's not as easy as it looks. when i started doing it, oh my... i really need help with it. i gotta call my aunt for help. she's the best in this craft. she can make curtains, bed spreads, pillowcases and blouses and more... whew! when i realized that i need to work harder on the basics of crochets, i said to myself, "slow down a bit. watch and learn... MORE!"

i bought a small weaving loom (a toy) just recently. wow! oh wow! this is new and it looks easy! it has everything in its box. i bought this because i am desperate of finishing a project that involves yarn. (ugh! i sound like a maniac again...) due to soo much excitement, i opened the box and started working for my first weaving project. hmmmm... not bad, eh! and i'm lovin' it! i had to work during the wee hours of the morning. i like the quietness of everything... and the kids were all asleep. no one to bug me... (sorry for the term. they usually get more excited than me) i managed to finished my first weaved bag for my younger niece. she liked it! aaaaw... thanks to you, little toy...

last night... just last night. i saw a video of finger knitting. this is perfect! i mean, it doesn't require hooks and needles and looms and anything else. just a ball of yarn and your fingers! fantastic! yeah... i know. only kids do this. what can i do? i wasn't taught about it. nobody did. not even in school. i know how to make a cross stitch portrait, sketching, scrap booking but these are new to me. don't blame me... sooo, i tried it and i liked it. i was able to make a shawl for my older niece. she was amazed on how fast i was able to finish one. oh yeah, i should be fast. kids can do it.

D asked, why didn't i make one for my 3 kids. i said, "theirs should be special. i have to prepare for that and grab the finest materials i can get." i will. i swear!

you know, this could be shallow. i mean, the things that i do. you might think that i am so child like. yes! i am! i simply got tired of the usual things that i do. i love to discover more new things that i can enjoy. clothes, shoes, bags... they can be tiring too. the world never runs out of things like these. they get more pricey as time passes by. and yet, you can still feel empty and not contented. next thing you know, you're buying another pair and more stuffs that you might not even need. i'm just taking a time off. you know me. i can't afford fashion all the time. and i easily get bored with it. well, maybe i'll go back when i'm aching again. for now, i am just a happy crafter. i'm going to try Polymer Clay sculpting soon. i am still working on this Lolita head dress that i'm sewing by hand and more and more knitting to come. i'm having fun!
